After graduation comes immersion. As part of the East Africa Biodesign Fellowship, our first Kenya-based fellows have spread out across the globe on externships: placements with leading medical technology organisations where classroom methodology meets the realities of device development, regulation, and manufacturing.

From following a single device through its entire development lifecycle to contributing to locally manufactured products designed in Africa for the world, each fellow returns with new skills, new networks, and a sharpened sense of what it takes to move an idea from clinic to market.
